He waits until Bae finishes filling it out then nips his neck and lets go to give him his personal space again. ]

[ baein almost mourns the way hunter steps back and looks back at him again with almost a pout. ]

What? No... I can't do that.

You absolutely can.

[ he chuckles softly and reaches for him again. ]

Aw, don’t do that. Come on, time for bed.

he huffs out on an airless breath.

No... no maybe. I don't know.

[ the fact that it's almost dawn, that technically everyone should be getting out of bed and start the day, and yet hunter is reaching for him and announcing it's time for bed... simply adjust as if it's the normal thing to do, it makes something fond and sticky curl in baein's chest and he swallows, with a little smile on his lips as he lets hunter reach him. ]

[ it's an honest question, as if he wasn't aware of the expressions he made. ]

[ that once he gets a hold of him, he tugs gently to get them moving away from the sunlight threat. ]

The pout. I can’t resist the pout.

[ he smiles with an equal fondness and keeps Bae close. ]

We can sleep for a while, okay? Deal with Daeshim later.

[ it turns into a surprise laugh, and he blinks wide eyes at hunter. ]

I wasn't pouting! [ and then his expression changes into more of a surprise. ] Did I?

[ he does want to sleep though, it was what he had planned before the sign stopped him in his tracks, so he lets hunter lead him back to whatever room there is, his own or if hunter has one too. (at this point he should have one.) ]

Didn't you just wake up...?

You did pout. And it was cute as always.

[ nope. No room yet, but he knows where Baeins in so they’re gonna go there - he’s inviting himself. ]

Nope. Sort of a night owl for the most part.

[narcolepsy]

You're just calling yourself cute saying that.

[ he looks bashful though, totally letting hunter into his space. it's sparsely furnitured, but it's neat and clean and full of books on whatever space is left that isn't the bed. ]

Mm... all right, I'll allow it, then.

[ it's said in jest. hunter can do whatever he wants. ]

We’re similar. Not completely identical, Bae.

[ letting go he reaches to drape his arms over Baes shoulders so he can look at him. ]

I’m definitely cute. But you’re special.

[narcolepsy]

We're similar enough.

[ he looks a little taken back as hunter studies him, and then his ears lay back slightly. ]

I’m weird. There’s a difference.

[ he chuckles softly and there’s a pause before he looks a little wide eyed abs grabs Baeins hands, guiding them up to his hair where there’s little soft furry ears hiding in his hair. ]

I almost forgot. I think they’re…squirrel. At least that’s what they look like to me. If it’s true the tail….when it comes uh….I don’t know how that’s gonna work.

And so am I? I'm not better than you. Or anyone.

[ he trails off when hunter takes his hands, but the confusion bleeds away once he realizes what he can feel in hunter's hair, and he lets out a little gasp as he touches them. his own ears are perking right up, and his tail curls at the tip in excitement. ]

Oh. You— you got ears! When?

[adistraction]

[ he laughs a bit when he sees the cat ears perk up. ]

I started noticing them a few days ago.

[ he crinkles his nose a little and just leans into his hands. ]

…do you…like them?

[narcolepsy]

[ the vampire is going to very gently rub the ears between his fingers, carefully petting him. ]

They're very cute...

[adistraction]

[ he looks amused because of how gentle the touching is… but then he softens a little more. Maybe because of sleep. Maybe because it’s Baein. ]

Are you hungry at all?

[narcolepsy]

[ baein seems to withdraw a little even if he doesn't move, but it only lasts for a second before he relents slightly. ]

Mm... only a little. It's fine, I can manage.

[adistraction]

[ he feels that and his shoulders slump faintly. ]

It’s okay. Lennon probably tastes better, anyway. I just thought I’d ask in case you were.

[ he brushes it off, not wanting Bae to feel any pressure because honestly that’s the last thing he wants, and slowly moves to get comfortable somewhere. ]

[narcolepsy]

[ baein looks startled, a little panicked for a moment. ]

N-no, that's not... that's not what I meant.

[ fidgeting, the prince tries to figure out what to say. ]

I'm just... I apologize. I think my reflexive reaction is just to feel repulsed... by myself. For... for imagining it. For...

[ swallowing, baein ducks his head and rubs at the back of his neck and then forward to his face, voice quieting. this is the first time he even dares to admit this to anyone. ]

For wanting to.

That’s something Hunter is realizing. He doesn’t like when Baein is too far away. All of his senses tune in and when there’s a distance that seems too big…it makes his fingers itchy.

Instinct makes him want to comfort him.

He reaches for the vampire and hums quietly, bottom lip being worries between his teeth as he tries to get Baein to come closer again. ]

I know you don’t like being what you are. But when I look at you, I don’t see a vampire that wants to eat everyone in the treehouse. You’re just Bae. Sweet, sexy, cozy Bae. You’re not bad…and you have needs. You might not like them but they’re part of you… if you’re hungry — eat.

[narcolepsy]

[ it's almost impossible to resist the faint pink flush that spreads over his cheeks when hunter compliments him. baein doesn't really agree all the time, but it fills him with a warmth he can't, and won't, shake. ]

Mm... it's... I almost always am. But... I don't like that. That it's always there. As if it can't be sated.

[ he shifts a little where he stands, but he doesn't pull away this time. ]

[ Hunter stops gnawing at his lip and gently tugs on Bae.

Closer.

But he moves at the same time to close the little distance between them. Brushing the back of his fingers over the others cool cheek and tucking his hair back. ]

Maybe that’s because you’re not taking enough. Or…maybe you just need to take it more regularly. You have options, Bae. Don’t suffer when you don’t have to.

It's not suffering...

[ his voice trails off as hunter brings them closer together, and because of the topic, baein finds his senses automatically tune in to the warmth of life of another person in front of him. if his eyes flash red, he doesn't notice it. it's very subtle and soft but it's there, in how they slowly take on a more saturated hue. ]

Isn’t it?

[ it’s subtle but Hunter is surprisingly honed into Baes energy, his vibration… his eyes lid a little and he lightly licks his bottom lip. ]

I’m with you a lot…you could take a little when you wake up. A little when you sleep. And save Lennon for the…longer…meals.

[ something inside baein feels like it's tangling in a jumble, and he swallows thickly. the vampire part of him is very in tune with this idea, meanwhile baein himself feels at odds with it.

but maybe... if... since it's hunter, it's okay. ]

[ Hunter watches Baein carefully before he leans in to kiss him softly. ]

Just consider it. It might help.

[ a little smile pulls at his lips and he takes a breath. ]
