[ the difference is there, enough for Hunter to notice. He smiles, all of his insides a little fuzzy with warmth that he also manages to project onto the other…

It’s what he thinks next that causes him to mirror that swallow… ]

[ there's a heat that baein wants to wrap around himself like a blanket. the fact that he just fed helps as well, and the usual chill in his body is not really present.

swallowing again, baein ducks his head and nods. ]

[ he lets them linger like that for a few moments, quietly savoring the new connection but eventually he doe bring his hands up to softly cradle the others face, using his thumbs to tip his chin up so he can kiss him again. ]

anytime you want…I’m yours, okay?

[narcolepsy]

[ the vampire kisses back, relaxing into it almost entirely, a soft noise escaping him. ]

I... I've never done anything but kissing.

[adistraction]

[ Hunter doesn’t bother stopping the kiss; communicating this way has its benefits, after all.

He smiles a little against the others mouth but he doesn’t draw away. ]

…okay, well, we’re not gonna do -that- until you’ve been with Jas, then.

[ it's definitely more convenient to not having to use your mouth for talking. it has better things to do, after all. baein reaches up to gently frame hunter's face, fingertips dipping into his hairline.

though the comment has him pull back just a little to blink at him, eyes a little wide, before the flush on his cheeks darkens impossibly. ]

I... w-what?

[ he says that outloud, blurts it out and can't get rid of the butterflies roaming around in his gut. the idea to be with hunter was already trapping heat inside him, and the fact that the other even implies jasper— the vampire swallows hard. ]

[ Hunter softens and offers Baein a smile. ]

Jas should be your first. I want you but I know how you feel about him and…it should be him.

[narcolepsy]

[ it's all he can do to duck his head to try and hide the flush that almost matches the gentle strawberry blonde of his hair. it rushes to the tips of his ears too and his voice devolves into a whisper. ]

I... maybe he doesn't want to.

[ no. no shrinking.

Hunter purses his lips for a moment before he ducks his head and seeks out another kiss. A warm but gentle thing. ]

Trust me, he would be an idiot if he didn’t want that. And I can tell he does. I just want him to be your first… it’s important. You’re important.

[narcolepsy]

[ baein looks up at the kiss, kisses back too even if it's gentle and brief, because he can't resist, and then he feels a burn behind his eyes, because hunter speaks what baein feels and... then adds baein to his important people and even if he knew, kind of, it feels more real like this, spoken. ]

You're important too...

[ baein has never tried to put anyone above someone else, because they're all different and important in their own ways. ]

I know.

[ he takes a breath and noses in. ]

You wouldn’t kiss me like that if I wasn’t important to you.

[ and Hunter wouldn’t spend as much time just wanting to be in Baeins orbit if the vampire wasn’t important to him. ]

We can do other things if you want. But that is something I want you to have with him. You cares about him first. And you get all fluttery when he’s around.

[ baein watches hunter's face, searching for any indication that the other feels upset about what he's saying about baein. but he's right, baein does get all fluttery around jasper, and he wishes he could be around him more.

but it's the same with hunter, only it's different. it's not fluttery, it's more of a familiarity or a sense of completeness in a way. it's a safety that is different from the safety he gets from jasper. from dae. they're all different. still... imagining himself with jasper like that has his cheeks light up again and baein whines before leaning forward so he can hide his face into hunter's neck. ]

How can you even tell...

[ no, Hunter isn’t upset. For the most part he isn’t jealous of any of them; Jasper, Lennon or Dae when it comes to Baein. Someone outside of their circle? He’d probably be upset… and maybe while he isn’t upset over Baein sharing his affection there might be little hints of jealousy that flare up even if he doesn’t say anything. as long as Bae is happy…he’s happy.

Because it’s the same for him… Bae is comfort, and safety, and he’s found that if he goes too long without contact he misses it.

He chuckles and opts for just cradling Baein to him, letting him hide a bit if he really wants to. ]

Hm? Your energy changes…the colors are brighter…warmer…and even though you don’t need to breathe, you breathe faster. Habit.

[narcolepsy]

My energy...

[ he has energy? brightness and warmness isn't something baein has felt able to associate to himself for a while now, so he can't help the way his throat tightens a little and he he chokes on his words, trying to swallow down the burn behind his eyes. ]

Really? I've never— I didn't think I could. Have... have energy.

Mhm.

[ his hands move, shifting fabric around until he can slip them underneath Baeins shirt to press his open palms against his back. ]

You’re warmer than you think you are. Brighter. Prettier. Stronger. You don’t see what I see. What we see. But I’ll remind you every day if I have to…

[narcolepsy]

[ baein can't swallow the lump, it refuses to disappear, and maybe he buries his face even more into hunter's neck, leans into the press of his hands. and maybe hunter will feel the wet of tears soaking into his shirt.

baein is a silent crier, even more so when he doesn't really need to breathe, but he slips his arms around hunter, curling as close as he can. ]

[ he feels more than just the tears, and his hold on Baein turns more secure; more protective.

He doesn’t tell him not to cry or ask him why he is…

Instead, he noses along his shoulder and gently bites him through his shirt. ]

I’ve got you.

[narcolepsy]

[ the bite has a shiver go down baein's spine and he sniffles on a sob, trying to stop the tears from flowing at the same time as he's trying to deal with the idea of someone else biting him and how he kind of. uh. likes it. ]

[ it's gravely and warbled, and baein feels like a melted mess right now. ]

[ he blinks, running his hands up and down the others back; lightly scratching with each pass. ]

[narcolepsy]

[ the prince cannot stop the wet giggle that slips out, the pressure over his ribcage easing off more and more. ]

[ turning his head, baein peers up at hunter. his eyes are a little glassy and red rimmed, but he's giving him a lopsided smile. ]

[adistraction]

[ the smile is contagious but Hunter steals a kiss instead of laughing. ]

You’re welcome. I can bite you again if you want.

[narcolepsy]

[ for a second, baein's eyes flash red and then go a little dark, and he swallows again. ]

Yeah? ...you can.

[ he doesn't know why the idea affects him so much, but he wants it. ]

[adistraction]

Oh.

[ smiling a little more he leans in closer and steals a kiss. ]

I like it when your eyes do that…

[ he licks his bottom lip and hums. ]

Where?

[narcolepsy]

My eyes...?

[ baein kisses back, but he mostly looks confused. he's not aware his eyes do anything special. he flushes at the question though, eyes darkening a little again. ]

Um... anywhere you like.

[adistraction]

Yeah…the way they get darker when you’re interested…

[ he looks over the others face, his own gaze finding Baeins every few seconds before it just lingers there. Locked.

He smirks. ]

Like that.

[ he breathes and considers all of the options. Fingers walk along his thighs while he thinks but sooner rather than later he reaches for Baeins shirt to remove it…]
