[it goes against his very nature to want this, to ask. like the human proposals are words that trouble him more than they probably should, because what if he's never human enough, never good enough to be a husband for real. it's like everything is already telling him that it's a bad idea, but daeshim stubbornly persists.]

i don't really know what that means. i've never seen a human proposal.
