"Noticed more than one." Because the ears are impossible to miss and Daeshim does spot the fangs next, but he's still more preoccupied with getting in that bed and under that blanket with him until he does.
He takes a better look at him then, and reaches up to rub a soft ear between his fingers.
Lennon huffs and tilts his head from the touch, sending a pout his way. And fuck, it feels good when he touches the ears like that. He relents, finally, lowering the blanket and raising it so Daeshim can get into the covers with him.
His hand stops at that, hovering just above the soft ear rather than touching it. His expression is more serious with the question, brown eyes fixed on Lennon until he gets his answer. That is what he cares about, whether or not they're causing the human pain. And that's when he also notices the little bitten place on his lip where the fangs left their mark.
"No, it's just weird," Lennon says, sighing as he peeks at the other. "And embarrassing. And Daeshim hasn't even seen the most embarrassing part. He starts to bite his lip again and then catches himself even as he notices the other's gaze seeming to take in where he'd already hurt himself.
Despite his distress about it he feels a weird feeling of contentment in his chest at Daeshim being close. Dammit.
Daeshim exhales, and it's even more obvios that he's relieved because he was genuinely worried. He hasn't actually experienced much physical pain himself, but he knows it isn't good. He doesn't want Lennon going through it either.
"Not weird, just different." He presses a careful kiss against the other's mouth. "Still you. Still mine."
It would take a lot more than some animal ears and a tail to keep the fae from accepting him.
He can take his time. Daeshim's still gonna think of him that way.
"They are furry. And soft." Wait, he's already said that. Maybe a couple of times. "This place has magic and magic will change you. Do you feel different in here?"
He taps a finger against his chest. That's where the insidious magic strikes.
It's kind of nice that the other just accepts him saying that, doesn't have insistent words about it. It makes Lennon feel like he has agency in it and all. He likes that better than just being claimed without his permission. It doesn't count until he accepts it, dammit.
At least, Daeshim doesn't seem weirded out but it definitely feels weird for them to be touched and yet he wants to let Dae touch the ears again.
"No," Lennon shakes his head, frowning briefly. "It's just... superficial," which... bothers him a lot. He's careful with his looks, everything is cultivated with precision and now there's something that's out of his control.
It sounds like half question, half accusation, and Daeshim blinks at it. The hand that was already lifted to touch his ears again pauses...and then lowers. His expression is unreadable, but it's a different kind of unreadable from usual.
"Not on purpose." So at least he didn't try to do it. "Bae changed in the forest. Jasper too. My magic just sort of..."
Bled into them? Infected them? ...Shot into them during sex? No, he doesn't like any of these expressions.
Lennon frowns dropping his head down. Little did they both know it
definitely is related to daeshim but not in that way. It was a different
sort of magic. He sighs out, trying not to let himself get upset with
Daeshim even though it would be easy to blame him— to take it out on him.
“We’ve barely known each other at all,” he sighs in resignation. He doesn’t
really have any answers.
Both things that he's said about five times already. But the other thing that Lennon says...about barely knowing each other. That bothers him for some reason.
"Let's change that. How do we change that?"
He wraps his arms and legs around him and oh hey - there's a cute soft tail to play with too.
Maybe if Daeshim says it enough, Lennon will start to accept them too. But
as it stands, he still hates them.
Perhaps is phrasing is a bit of a Freudian slip because he had meant in
terms of time but it feels like the other way is true in some ways. He
allows the other to wrap around him, the tail flicks and Lennon feels like
he doesn’t even have complete control over its reactions to things or the
way his spine kind of tingles when it’s touched.
“You ask me a question and I’ll answer and ask you a question until we get
tired of questions for a while.”
That's right, he had Daeshim bring him hot chocolate before. And wild mint grew in the forest, he's familiar with it. Next time, he'll try to make it for him himself, and Lennon dare not refuse.
Lennon shifts, tucking his head against the others shoulder because he can.
His ears rub against him and he tries to shake off how that makes him feel.
Lennon is surprised at the force of the statement about red and he ticks it
away to ask about some other time. For now he lets himself enjoy the way
daeshim talks about blue, the sky. There’s more questions for another time
there too.
"But brown is my color. That's what they told me. Brown like dirt and mud, other unpleasant things too."
He used to wear a lot of brown when he first met Baein. Even now, he'd probably still unconsciously choose brown clothes, brown shoes. Not because he likes them but...he was made from mud and brown is his color.
He sighs, and then sounds more cheerful again.
"What scares you? I need to know so I can be ready."
Lennon frowns because he can't imagine that. Unpleasant things? What could be unpleasant about Daeshim -- he's weird and annoying sometimes but he's good... His ears twitch in irritation and he nuzzles him more.
"Nothing unpleasant about you," he mutters. He won't repeat it either.
The other's asking questions that are so hard for him! Lennon licks his lips and he didn't ask everything so he chooses something simple.
It's a surprised sound. Nothing unpleasant about you. It's like something Baein would've said, or Jasper. He hadn't thought about hearing something like it from Lennon, but now that he has it makes him feel warm. It feels the same way that they used to make him feel.
And Daeshim feels the same way in return.
"Then if a clown ever comes near you, I'll yell at it until it runs away!"
Does he even know what a clown is? Maybe, maybe not, he'll yell at it anyway.

He takes a better look at him then, and reaches up to rub a soft ear between his fingers.
"So soft. Softer than moss!"

"I can't figure out how to get rid of them."

"Still cute too. Maybe more."

"I still haven't agreed to be yours," he says but there's not much fight in his voice at the moment.
"How is it cuter? It's like I turned into some furry overnight."

He can take his time. Daeshim's still gonna think of him that way.

"You look like you belong with a Fae."

It’s important to Lennon still. He can’t help it really. And he’s embarrassed and uncomfortable with the sudden change.
“Did you do this…?!”
no subject
"Not on purpose." So at least he didn't try to do it. "Bae changed in the forest. Jasper too. My magic just sort of..."

"I like this game. I like questions. What's your favorite everything?"
Is that cheating? He doesn't think that's cheating.
no subject
“You have to be more specific than that or I won’t play,” Lennon retorts, squirming just a little bit. Ignore his tail dammit.
no subject
Daeshim presses his lips together, pouting for a moment before narrowing his question down.
"What's your favorite food? And drink! They have to go together, it should count."
no subject
You’re really going to sound crazy if you say that out loud… he tries to ignore anything going on with the tail that won’t stay still.
Lennon thinks that of course this is the question that he has to start with! He takes a moment but eventually does come to a conclusion.
“I really like homemade soup,” he says softly. “and I like peppermint hot chocolate or peppermint chocolate milk the best.” Not necessarily together…
no subject
That's right, he had Daeshim bring him hot chocolate before. And wild mint grew in the forest, he's familiar with it. Next time, he'll try to make it for him himself, and Lennon dare not refuse.
"A fair answer. It's your turn."

Lennon shifts, tucking his head against the others shoulder because he can. His ears rub against him and he tries to shake off how that makes him feel.
“What’s your favorite color?”
no subject
"I don't like red."
But that doesn't answer Lennon's actual question, even he realizes that. Daeshim tries to relax, taking lots of time to think it over.
"I like all the other colors. But blue most of all. The sky is blue."
His voice softens at that, almost wistful.
no subject
Lennon is surprised at the force of the statement about red and he ticks it away to ask about some other time. For now he lets himself enjoy the way daeshim talks about blue, the sky. There’s more questions for another time there too.
