After everything with Baein, it's close to bedtime and Baein had gone on his way at some point. Lennon slips out of his t-shirt again and back to just the booty shorts he'd been wearing as he stretches out and rests his head on Daeshim's chest.
"I...want this room to be just ours, this bed..." he says softly. "Where you go to sleep by me every night and wake up by me in the morning..."
He's tired...at peace, but tired. It's a strange feeling for Daeshim, and he's having trouble figuring out what everyone around him probably already knows: feelings are hard.
"Maybe I need to add ginger to my tea..." He murmurs the words to himself, because that's what he comes up with instead. His fingers are lazily combing through Lennon's hair, and he doesn't even know for sure that he's still awake until he speaks.
He blinks a couple of times at the request. But the two of them have always done things like this, whether it's about hot chocolate or Fridays.
"I'll take the money I've saved up and have a couple rooms added," Lennon murmurs as he leans into the other's fingers. He presses closer him. He knows he's selfish but he'd always wanted this room to just be theirs. It's not a new thing. It's why when Daeshim had turned into a mushroom the first time he had carried him out to the living room instead of calling for help to come to him.
"One room with a bed big enough for everyone... and a room for Hunter," Lennon explains, swallowing a little.
"It's really okay?" Lennon curls closer, his fingers rubbing lightly on the other's stomach.
"You need help getting the money. I can help!" Daeshim has no idea what a "sugar daddy" is, but he doesn't want Lennon to be his. He's not lazy or unwilling to help. More than anything, he never looked for a job because the human didn't want him to. But more and more he's seeing how important money is, even if it's still not very important to him.
"It's what you want. Of course it's okay."
It's that simple for Daeshim. Shouldn't people express what they need and want? Especially when it's to someone they care about.
Lennon shakes his head a little, pushing himself up onto one elbow and looking down at the other's face as he rests his hand on his stomach instead of rubbing it. "You... a job isn't who you are, you do a lot for the household," Lennon counters. "I can work some longer shifts and maybe a little later into the evenings than I have been to hit some prime hours."
Lennon leans to brush his nose against Daeshim's before pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
"Taking care of the people I care about is who I am." In the Ruinwood that meant making sure that the boundaries were strong, that wolves or flesh-eating fae couldn't cross. It meant that he kept the apple trees and the berry bushes healthy, so they could provide fruit for bae and jasper's baking.
Here...is what he does really as important here? He would rather work than spend those extra hours without him.
He tangles his fingers in Lennon's hair, curling it around them and smiling after they've kissed.
"Mm. And you've always made me feel like they do." He's humored a lot of the Fae's temperamental ways.
Lennon smiles at that and honestly, he feels like the other takes care of him plenty. He doesn't need him to bring money to the table. He presses another kiss to his lips and sighs as he settles back down, still in kissing range but not propped up, tangling their legs together comfortably.
"I just...can't imagine a normal job that would make you happy."
"Humans seem to make money in many different ways." Some ways are more successful than others, which is one thing that the Fae doesn't understand. "I could sell flowers."
It's admittedly an odd notion to him to sell flowers, but he could probably get used to it. "Many people seem to enjoy them."
His mouth twists a little as he thinks about it, but only because he's thinking about it.
"It is something I am good at." So maybe he does understand that that's important. "And. It is something that other people enjoy. It seems to be an essential part of human courtship!" That was a little surprising, and pleasing. "If they are willing to pay for them...in a way, I would be helping them, right?"
"I'll talk to them. But I'm sure they'll be willing to grow and help!" He can sell them outside too. He'd barely even need a stall! Daeshim has dirt on his knees or elbows half the time anyway. Might as well have a good reason for it.
He was so lost in thought that he didn't give Lennon's kiss the attention that it deserved. And he feels bad about it, wrapping his arms around him to squeeze.
"Not your flower though." The blue-violet one that symbolizes Lennon must never be sold.
Lennon feels a little better about this option if the other is going to insist on working. At least it's in the fae's element. He still dislikes it a bit but he understands the need to contribute even if he's used to doing it all on his own. It's hard to accept help but from Daeshim he has a little less trouble in doing so.
"mm, good," Lennon smiles, lips finding the mark to kiss.
"I want... to get a tattoo on my neck to symbolize being yours."
"Your neck is very pretty, like a deer's. I'm sure a tattoo would look pretty there too."
It's a compliment, really. And...the idea makes him happy. Lennon might know this from the way the Fae scissors his legs open and closed a few times. He has even more trouble staying still when he's happy.
"Like a deers..." Lennon laughs quietly because from anyone else he might not have liked the comparison. He brushes his fingers against his neck in the spot that mirrors where Daeshim has a mark.
"Mhm, yeah, I'd get it by myself," Lennon says, nipping at the other's neck playfully.
"No. You must not go by yourself." His voice is firm, even if he knows why Lennon would. Knows it would be for his sake. Daeshim wraps around him even more, turning his head until his lips find the other's temple. "As long as you know that you are mine and I am yours. It's a deal between us, even if no one else ever knows."
He doesn't want Lennon to feel like he has to do anything to announce it or prove it. It's enough for him to just be in Dae's arms.
Lennon gives Daeshim a frustrated look when the other says no. He would've pushed himself up but the other's wrapping around him and he doesn't actually want to put any space between them even if he's frustrated.
"I want it," Lennon says, maybe with a hint of petulance. "I want to wear a mark of you on my skin."
It's for him and for Daeshim, no one else.
"Humans wear rings... but you have this..." Lennon's fingers brush against the flower.
"Do you want rings?" Lennon is human, after all. Daeshim could wear a ring. A ring wouldn't make him bleed. But... "If a mark on your skin will make you happy, it will make me happy too. Just let me come with you."
The flower on Daeshim's neck didn't bloom without Lennon nearby.
His breath catches at that, and the fae scowls with drawn brows.
"The person with the needle should be the one who is worried! If they hurt you I will-" He struggles for a way to finish that threat. It's hard having a protective side while also hating violence and conflict. But when it's someone that he cares about, he'll do what he must. So a more determined look settles on Daeshim's face. "I will curse them if they mess up. Their fingers will grow long and gnarled like tree roots."
"Maybe you should stay home, Daeshim. I can have Jasper go with me," Lennon says with a raised brow at that response.
Lennon sighs and pulls the other closer as he tilts his head to press kisses over the other's mark, nipping at it.
"It'll hurt but... I like that sort of thing and I know you don't get that and I don't want you to get upset and then worry you'll do something rash like curse the person tattooing me."
"I want to go! You must not replace me with Jasper!" His frown becomes something softer, more akin to a pout. This is his, even if it's going on Lennon's skin, and he wants to be there for it.
"I will not curse them..." Hm. It's a hard promise to make, and possibly an unwise one. So he fixes it. "Unless you say 'fuck'."
