[it might not even be the last time. there will be things that daeshim doesn't understand, and things that lennon won't understand too, no matter how much the fae might need him to the next time. a bird and a fish can fall in love, but where do they build their nest? it's even more of a challenge for a fae and a human.
he hums and stands up. maybe that's all there is to know about paint brushes, he doesn't know. maybe there's nothing more to any of it. something tells him that that's not the case, but daeshim has seen what's inside the forbidden room...and that should be enough.]

[ Lennon would hate that day when it almost certainly comes. Understanding and being understood are important but ... no one is perfect, no couple is perfect. Daeshim is nearly perfect, though.

[he'll probably ask again someday, when something happens to pique his curiosity again. but for now...he can feel that he's still not really wanted in there. the way that lennon doesn't say much, the way that he stays right where he is. he notices.
it makes him...not necessarily unsure of lennon's words, but not reassured either. he hesitates in the doorway.]
...Humans have used iron to protect themselves from the Fae for centuries. It's a very effective weapon! [he pauses, swallowing hard.] I hope you won't feel the need to use it again.
[ Lennon frowns at the other's explanation and it's very hard to keep it together because he never would have thought of it as a weapon. He swallows hard. He knows he'll have to talk to Dae again. ]

[ There's an ache in his chest and a twisting pit of something in his stomach. ]
