IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Daeshim
Species: fae
Canon: original
Canon Point: When he ventures to the Ruinwood's protective boundary for the first time in years.
Character Age: 400ish, but appears to be in his early 20's.
CRAU: No
CRAU Explanation: n/a
Character Appearance: Short with unruly purple hair and brown eyes.
Powers and Abilities:
chlorokinesis: Daeshim has the ability to sprout, grow, and manipulate a number of trees, plants, and fungi that are native to the Ruinwood. In the case of trees, this growth doesn't happen overnight, but still progresses much faster than it normally would.

shapeshifting: Besides being short and purple-haired, he has the ability to take two other forms. One is his "Guardian" form, a nightmarish figure with long limbs, a skullish face, and antlers. Inside the Ruinwood, he towers at over 12 feet tall while in this form. Outside of his forest, it'll be more like 5 feet tall. When forced to go on the offense, this is the form that Daeshim will take.

Daeshim can also turn into...a purple mushroom. This most often happens when he's feeling especially sad, afraid, or when he's injured, as he heals more quickly in this form.

cursing: Daeshim can cast curses on anyone who's not magically protected. These curses can be anything from minor irritations to the classic of turning someone into a toad. They're mostly mischievous and temporary, but his Unseelie blood does give him the potential for darker things too. Daeshim has only cast such an unforgiving curse on one person in the past, a murderer. (No curse ever done without discussion and player permission first.)

He's also good at foraging, swimming, climbing, and living that cottagecore life.

What Did Your Character Wish For? For family, people he belongs to instead of just a place.

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
For the most part, he has no one to miss. Daeshim is the progeny of a Seelie and an Unseelie, and therein lies many of his problems. The blood between the two is very different, and while Dae feels the pull of both, it's never been strong enough for him to fit in at either Court. Plain and wingless with a penchant for roughspun clothing, he was looked down upon by his mother's side. He was also deemed too gentle and cowardly to survive with his Unseelie kith and kin. So he basically raised himself, in a small area of woods within a much larger forest. Growing up his only company was the creatures you would imagine in such a place - deer, rabbits, and the crows that brought Daeshim news of the human city nearby, along with a little bit of its trash to trade with him.

When he ventured closer to the city to see for himself, he noticed the "shiny" humans - humans who are passionate or gifted in something. Daeshim also noticed that death and unhappiness seemed to follow them, so he started stealing them away to the Ruinwood for protection. (Nevermind that they didn't ask him for it.)

Most of them did not stay, but two did: a little girl, the first one, whose name he never even knew. She died within his forest anyway, the result of human violence, and Daeshim has been scarred by that ever since. The second one he grew close to was a boy named Baron who spent two decades with him. But during that time, he absorbed too much of the forest's (and Dae's) magic, and slowly transformed into a wild thing who eventually fled.

2. What are they most afraid of?
Daeshim doesn't have many fears. Spiders, snakes, storms - nothing in the natural world troubles him. He dislikes lonliness, but he doesn't necessarily fear it, since he's endured so much of it during his life. But violence, even a little fistfight, unsettles him greatly. The sight of blood makes him panic, hide, or even turn into his mushroom state. Despite its ominous name, the Ruinwood is a peaceful place, and violence isn't something that he witnesses it very much. But the death of a child who was brought there for protection is what gave Daeshim his biggest fear.

3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?
Emotionally: Daeshim's weakness emotionally is a little bit of emotional insecurity. Even at 400 years old, he's still a young man by Fae standards. Fae in general can be temperamental, and Dae's no exception. He can be stubborn and moody. If he doesn't want to have a conversation? He runs away from it and the person who's trying to have it with him. He can be stubborn and stingy, whether it's over a found "treasure" or a person he really likes. These people are "his", and while he can be quite affectionate with these people, he can just as easily become jealous over anyone else who gets close to them. That said, he grew up with zero emotional guidance, so it's to his credit that he's as well-behaved as he is.

Mentally: Daeshim's mental strength is his greatest strength. Like many Fae, he's clever with a unique way of thinking. He's also endlessly curious and a fast learner when he wants to be. But there are times when he can't or simply won't understand the ways that others think, and that does present a problem.

Physically: Physically, Daeshim's weakness is his size. His energy and endurance are above average, but he barely makes it to 5'2" in height and isn't exactly muscular. He doesn't have any advantages when it comes to physical strength.

4. What would make them happiest?
Daeshim is a simple creature with simple joys: good food, good company, a fire if the night is cold. But it's the company of others that makes the difference between content and truly happy. The Ruinwood is safe and provides for all of his needs, but it's often a very lonely place.

5. What’s their type for a lover?
Daeshim doesn't have an actual "type" and has given little thought to a relationship of a romantic nature. But, if it happened, it would require someone who's patient. He's not human, and he doesn't always see or understand things the way that humans do. He can be hard to understand, just as he also sometimes struggles to understand. He naturally has a resting b face - b as in "blank". This along with a tendency to stare makes him a little bit creepy to some people. There are also some human boundaries that still confuse him. Telling him that he "can't" do something is likely to be met with a response of how he actually can - kidnapping humans, for example. Explaining to him why he shouldn't might be a little more successful, but not always. It's hard to tell if Daeshim can't understand some of these principles, or simply doesn't want to. He does have his positive qualities too. Anyone with him would be considered his true "treasure" and he would be protective and affectionate towards them, always honest as Fae must be, and would never harm them.

Samples: i hope another tdm is okay.
